Camera Extension Poles for Marine & Underwater Use

Carbon fibre action camera poles for underwater viewing, inspections, filming, boating and fishing.

Seavu camera extension poles help you position your action camera above, beside or below the surface with more control. They are designed for marine and poolside use, making them ideal for underwater viewing, inspections, filming, boating, research, coaching and fishing.

They let you position an action camera in hard to reach places without needing to enter the water. All Seavu carbon fibre poles come fitted with the Seavu Pole Mount, so they can connect securely to the Seeker Marine Kit for live underwater viewing on your phone or tablet.

Applications for Marine Camera Poles

Seavu camera extension poles are useful anywhere you need to position an action camera above, beside or below the surface with more control.

Boat and hull inspections
Inspect hulls, propellers, moorings, jetties and pontoons from above the surface.

Underwater viewing and exploration
View reefs, weed beds, shallow marine areas, pools and underwater structure without entering the water.

Underwater filming
Capture stable underwater angles from a boat, dock, pool edge or shoreline.

Marine research
Position cameras for reef, habitat, wildlife and waterway observation.

Pool coaching
Review swimming technique from underwater angles while giving feedback from poolside.

Fishing and bait monitoring
Position a camera below the boat, near bait, burley trails or structure to observe fish behaviour.

Tourism and education
Show underwater environments to guests, students or groups in real time when paired with a Seavu live viewing system.

Choose the Right Camera Extension Pole

Choose your pole based on where you need to position the camera and how much reach you need.

For most boats, docks, pools and general underwater viewing, the 3m pole is the best all round option. It gives useful reach while staying easy to control.

Features Built for Marine Camera Positioning

Seavu camera extension poles are built for marine and poolside use, not just handheld filming on land. The design focuses on control, stability and easy setup around boats, docks, pools and shorelines.

Carbon fibre construction
Lightweight, strong and corrosion resistant. Carbon fibre helps reduce flex when the pole is extended, making it easier to aim the camera and hold a steadier view underwater.

Telescopic design
Adjust the pole length to suit the job. Keep it short for close checks, then extend it when you need more reach for inspections, filming, reef edges, pool coaching or deeper positioning.

Clip lock sections
Secure each pole section quickly and firmly. This helps keep the pole stable when extended and makes it easy to adjust reach while working around water.

Ball mount and arm
Fine tune the camera angle instead of being locked into one fixed position. Useful for hull inspections, underwater filming, pool coaching, reef checks and viewing underwater structure.

Quick release mount
Attach or remove the camera setup with one click. This makes setup, pack down, rinsing and storage faster.

Underwater liveview
When paired with the Seavu Seeker Marine Kit, your pole setup becomes a live underwater viewing system. You can see the camera feed on your phone or tablet, adjust the camera position in real time, and check what is happening below the surface without entering the water.

When I saw Seavu on Instagram, I got SUUUPER excited because I had tried making my own version and failed. Seavu honestly does not disappoint, they thought of everything, and the quality of the components are commercial grade. Such a magical feeling to be dry above the surface, while exploring the mysterious depths below :)

Frequently Asked Questions

A marine camera pole is used to position an action camera around boats, docks, pools and underwater environments. Common uses include boat and hull inspections, underwater filming, reef exploration, pool coaching, marine research, fishing and general underwater viewing. When paired with a Seavu live viewing system, it also lets you see what the camera sees in real time from above the surface.

A marine camera pole is designed for use around water, boats and saltwater environments. It needs to be lightweight, rigid, corrosion resistant and easy to control. Standard extension poles are usually made for travel, selfies or above water filming and may not offer the stability, durability or mounting options needed for underwater camera positioning.

Yes. A camera extension pole can be used to lower and position an action camera underwater from a boat, dock, pool edge or shoreline. For best results, use a rigid carbon fibre pole with a secure camera mount. To see the live camera feed while the camera is underwater, pair the pole with the Seavu Seeker Marine Kit.

Live viewing lets you see what the camera sees while it is still underwater. This makes it much easier to aim the camera, check framing, inspect structure, monitor fish behaviour, review swimming technique or observe marine life in real time. Without live viewing, you are often recording blind and checking the footage later.

The Seavu Seeker Marine Kit uses a WiFi tether system that carries the camera’s wireless signal back above the surface through the Action Cable. This allows compatible action cameras to maintain live preview and camera control on your phone or tablet while the camera is underwater.

The best camera pole length depends on how much reach you need. A 1.5m pole is best for portability, kayaks, pools and quick checks. A 3m pole is a good all round option for boat side viewing and general underwater use. A 6m pole is useful for extra reach around wharves, hulls and reef edges. A 10m pole is best for deeper positioning, wider coverage, research and exploration.

Yes. A marine camera pole is useful for inspecting hulls, propellers, moorings, jetties, pontoons and other hard to reach areas from above the surface. When paired with the Seavu Seeker Marine Kit, you can view the inspection live on your phone or tablet, making it easier to see issues and adjust the camera angle in real time.

Yes. A camera pole can help capture underwater footage from boats, docks, pools, shorelines and shallow marine environments. It gives you more control over camera position and angle than simply lowering a camera on a line. With Seavu live viewing, you can also check framing before and during recording.

Yes. A camera pole is useful for pool coaching because it lets you position an action camera underwater from the pool edge. When paired with a Seavu live viewing system, coaches can review swimming technique live on a phone or tablet and adjust the camera angle without entering the water.

Yes. Marine camera poles can be used for reef checks, habitat observation, species monitoring and shallow water research. They allow cameras to be positioned underwater with more control while reducing the need to enter the water or disturb the environment.

Seavu camera extension poles are made from carbon fibre because it is lightweight, strong and corrosion resistant. Carbon fibre also helps reduce flex when the pole is extended, making it easier to aim the camera and keep a steadier view underwater.

Yes. Seavu camera poles are designed for action camera setups and can be used with compatible GoPro and DJI Osmo Action cameras when paired with the correct mount or Seavu underwater viewing system.
