Seavu kits let you view and record underwater in real time using an action camera. Use them for fishing and boating, reef and structure checks, research and monitoring, inspections, tourism and education, and filming.
Choose Wi Fi for live viewing and control on a phone or tablet, or DisplayPort (USB C to HDMI) for viewing on a TV, monitor, or computer.
Seavu works in two ways. Wi Fi kits stream live to a phone or tablet with camera control in the camera app. DisplayPort kits send video via USB C DisplayPort to HDMI to a TV, monitor, or computer.
No. They use the camera’s built in Wi Fi for a direct connection to your phone or tablet. Internet is only needed if you want to livestream online.
It depends on the kit and the cable length you choose.
Seeker Marine Kit goes down to 52m with the 52m option.
Explorer Adventure Kit goes down to 27m with the 27m option.
Explorer Plus Pro Kit goes down to 15m.
Explorer Plus Adventure Kit goes down to 50m with the 50m option.
Camera compatibility depends on the Seavu kit you are using.
Seeker and Explorer kits use Wi Fi and work with selected GoPro and DJI Osmo Action cameras that support live preview and camera control through their phone or tablet app.
Explorer+ kits use HDMI and require an action camera that can output video over USB C using DisplayPort Alt Mode. DisplayPort is new to action cameras and is currently only available on the DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro and DJI Osmo Action 6.
It depends on your depth and viewing device. Action cameras are continually improving in picture quality, battery life, and connection, so in general, the newer the camera the better. For longer cables and deeper use, newer models typically perform best.
If you want TV or monitor viewing with Explorer Plus, you will need a newer DJI camera with USB C DisplayPort output, currently DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro or DJI Osmo Action 6.
