See the full underwater scene in real time, in every direction
Most underwater cameras show you one direction at a time. So if the fish, the damage or the interesting bit of reef sits just out of frame, you miss it. The Seavu Orbit 360 changes that by sending live 360 underwater footage to your phone or tablet while the camera is still underwater, so you can look around in real time from the boat, jetty or shore.
What live 360 underwater footage means
A 360 camera captures everything around it. With the Orbit 360, you see that full scene as it happens. Simply swipe the screen or turn your phone or tablet to look in any direction, the same way you would with a 360 video.
In addition, you can record in 360 at the same time. As a result, you get footage you can reframe later, choosing your angles after the dive rather than guessing them before.
Normally, this isn’t possible underwater. WiFi and Bluetooth don’t pass through water, so no action camera can stream a live view on its own once it’s submerged. A Seavu underwater camera system solves this by carrying the signal to the surface.
How the Orbit 360 works
The Orbit 360 Kit is built around the DJI Osmo 360 and DJI Osmo 360 II.
A receiver sealed in marine grade resin sits near the camera and captures its WiFi and Bluetooth signals. The signal then travels up a custom Seavu cable to a transmitter at the surface, which sends it wirelessly to your phone or tablet. Meanwhile, you view and control the camera through the DJI Mimo app.
In the app you can:
- View and look around the live 360 feed
- Record while viewing
- Adjust camera settings
- Livestream online in single lens mode
No internet is needed for live viewing. Instead, you only need a connection if you want to livestream online.
Two setups: Invisible Pole or Drop Rig
Invisible Pole
The Invisible Pole is a carbon fibre telescopic pole with an integrated receiver, cable and transmitter. Because of the way 360 footage is stitched, the pole disappears from the final image, so your shots look free floating. It comes in 1.5m, 3m, 6m and 10m lengths.
Best for: shallow reef and marina filming, jetty and boat work, and tour operators showing guests what’s below.
Drop Rig
The Drop Rig is a weighted mount on a cable that lowers the camera to the bottom and holds it steady. It comes with a 7m, 17m, 27m or 52m cable.
Best for: reefs, structure, seafloor observation, habitat surveys and marine life.
Where live 360 makes a difference
- Filming and content creation: capture immersive underwater footage and reframe it into standard video later.
- Marine research and habitat surveys: record the whole site in one drop rather than repositioning for multiple angles.
- Tour operators: show guests the full underwater scene live on a phone or tablet.
- Fishing and exploring: see what’s around the bottom, not just in front of the lens.
- Boat and structure inspections: check hulls, pylons and moorings from every angle in one pass.
What you need to know before you buy
- The camera must be in the official DJI Osmo 360/360 II Invisible Waterproof Case, rated to 50m.
- Cable length is signal reach, not a depth rating. Always stay within the 50m case rating.
- The camera’s 2.4GHz WiFi band must be selected to connect to your device.
- Camera, case, phone, tablet and display accessories are not included.
